h.e.h. & baby brother
watch us grow

Wow! This weekend H turned 18 months. J & I were just talking about our hospital/birth experience, remembering it like it was yesterday. But, then we look at H and how she has changed even in the last 6 months since her birthday and we are amazed. We agreed that the phrase “miracle of birth” is so true! Look at this little girl, this little toddler who we have been entrusted with! So, here is a bit of an update on H:

*She still loves her blankie, for sleeping, she chews on the corner to fall asleep.
*Her attention span is still fairly short, a 20 min. show is way too long for her unless she is playing at the same time. Full length movies seem a long time off, this is OK with us!
*She can say a little over 100 words/names
*We’ve started to learn our alphabet and she has M, H, A and O down pat and what they say.
*I’ve learned that when I’m making certain things for dinner that I used to exclude her from I have to include her now. There isn’t anything we eat that she won’t eat…I love this! (except for maybe the scrambled eggs, they are slowly growing on her)
*After our winter trip home, her love of reading is back. We read and read and read….
*She can walk up half the 46 stairs to our apartment by herself, holding on to the wall.
*She has a huge heart and love to give her parents and her friends kisses and hugs. She walks around the house and goes “mmmm” while sticking out her chin, meaning she wants to give a kiss to one of us.
*A 3 hour afternoon nap is still taken each and every day, but her bed time has permanently moved to around 7:45
*She asks to color almost everyday, you can’t imagine how this makes my heart sing!

We are having such a great time being H’s parents and can’t wait to see what she will be like in just 6 short months, so many changes each and every day!

I just wanted to say thank you to my Nana and Oma! Yesterday when mama came home from work she had two big boxes for us to open. It was very exciting! Lots and lots of pink things! It was such a fun Valentines surprise for me! I love my next Cinderella toys and especially my new purse! (Of course the packing peanuts kept me occupied for quite some time last night!) I love you Nana and Oma!

Happy Valentines Day!

I am not one for too much jewelry or really getting “done up” too often. But, secretively I have been wanting Haley to enjoy dressing up and play jewelry. After we visited our friends in San Diego and I saw Haley’s friend Tabitha come out of her room with a bunch of “garb” on I felt like there might be hope, Tabitha is 4 months older than H. Finally this morning Haley asked me to help her put a hat on and she proceeded to get a scarf on and started to “play” with her jewelry…it didn’t last long but inside I was jumping for joy ~ although the hat made her look more like a snowboarder!
