Justin and I were just talking yesterday about how much fun Haley is right now. (She just turned 20 months old this week) I wanted to record some of the things she does now that we enjoy so as not to forget!

*She’ll say in a loud voice (yells) “Button” in the car or at home when she wants the music turned up. There are 3 songs that she can request:
“Na Na Na” means “Me and My Gang” by Rascal Flatts
“Oh Oh Oh” means “All the Single Ladies” by Beyonce
“Honey Honey” means the song by the same name on the Mama Mia Soundtrack

*Makes grunting noises when she steps up or down like it’s the hardest things she’s ever done (not always but sometimes). She can walk up all 46 stairs to her house on her own holding the wall, but most times she makes it 3/4 of the way and say “hole me” and I carry her the rest of the way.
*Will NOT say the number one when counting to ten. Her counting ALWAYS starts with two!
*Still absolutely Loves baby corns, red or yellow pepper and has discovered the past couple months that she is her father’s daughter: a chocolate lover. She doesn’t like coconut.
*She doesn’t like pig tails in her hair, but she is willing to wear a clip ONLY if she knows the color so she can touch it and say that color all day.
*It’s a fun time for her to try on Mom & Dad’s shoes and try to walk around the house (she started this on her own).
*She asks daily to get on the computer and do “ABC’s” at her favorite web site: www.starfall.com
*She has started to become fairly independent at times, pushing our hands away from helping and not moving until she is sure that we aren’t close. At the same time, she has started to want to cuddle more and give more and longer hugs, it’s the best!
*Out of all the things she knows the words for, the ONLY thing that she doesn’t call by the real word is: Milk. She calls it “Nom” and then she kinda smacks her lips together two times right after she says it. (There will be a scrapbook pages about that for sure!)
*On most days she is overly friendly, saying Hi, Hey or “Hewo” to all she sees, including inanimate objects, Hi Cars, Hi coat etc. Then all these people/things get a bye-bye also. On a really good day the students and people around our Haus get hand shakes too where she says “Meet you” (Nice to meet you). It’s a good quality for her to have considering she meets about 60 new people every 3 weeks!
*When someone asks “How are you Haley?” she says “yep.”
*Lately 5 out of 7 days a weeks she asking to go to the zoo….

I’m sure there are other things I’d like to remember but I’ll just start another list for later!

Who knew that yogurt from breakfast and homemade Popsicle holders could be so fun? Haley spent 25-30 min yesterday morning after breakfast just playing around, at 20 min I added some Cheerios into the mix to which she said “Yow-ee” and got the extra 10 min of fun. It was nice to get some laundry folded and clean up the kitchen a bit. Thanks to the DeBoers for the care packages! We love you!

I’m debating and thought I’d ask your opinion. Should I stop posting on babyhiggins.com and just move everything over to higginsadventures.com? It’s not really that it’s a problem to keep up two sites, surprisingly it’s more fun than a trouble. But, there are times, like Easter, when I tend to divide up the pictures to post some on both sites at the same time avoiding duplicates and then linking the two sites. Part of me feels that there are still quite a few things that are solely “Haley” but I know they could be put on our family site if needed. We are into our third year of posts on this site so I also feel like we’re really committed to it. I’m going to leave this up for a couple weeks and see what people think. I’m honestly torn and don’t really know which way to go on this….Thanks for you advice!

It was a GREAT Easter Sunday for Haley!
Playing with friends at church
Getting a new Dora doll in her Easter Basket
Wearing her new dress, shoes and her first headband
Playing at the park in the restaurant garden at lunch
Napping on the way home
Finding eggs, even some Elmo eggs
Eating 12 M and M’s and some Gummy Bears
Then running around in the yard until it was dark

Along with the fun came a few scratches from running SO fast but all in all, a great day was had by all! Check out the details here.

It’s a win-lose situation. I’m glad that she is finally starting to understanding “look at the camera and smile”, but at the same time we get the new “cheesy” smile! I don’t know a kid who hasn’t gone through it, guess we’ll just have to stick to more candid shots ~ here it is H’s cheesy smile!

This is also the memory of H’s first big spill and ouchie. She moved the lawn chair on the porch to turn on the light and the chair tipped over and her face pretty much slid down the wall…ouch!
